The history of this small business dates back to the times of the Nazi occupation in Poland.
Stefania Pawlikowska was employed at a new clothes mending service place established in ŁódŸ by the Germans who had come from Dresden. The clothes mender's opened at 7 Piotrkowska Street, offered its service of expert clothes mending. Apprenticeship and highly skilled practice was carried out under top masters' guidance.
After the war, in 1947, Stefania Pawlikowska opened her own service room in the same place.
She owned and ran the business until 1988. After her sudden death. Tadeusz Pawlikowski, the son, took the business over. He has been involved with it sińce 1976 doing his best to continue his family tradition. He has extended the rangę of services and trained young s killed specialists at three-year's courses, the only apprenticeship of this kind in Poland.
Stefania Pawlikowska (1922-1988) was the only certified master of artistic clothes mending in postwar Poland. Much dedicated to pedagogical and social acticities he managed to maintain the disappear ing craft.
